BSNL PRESENTS MEN’S SOCIAL CLUB
The BSNL Men’s Club has now become a Wednesday must visit event for our male members.
The Club generally opens the doors at 11am until 4pm each Wednesday. It is becoming extremely popular with over 60 registered members and an attendance average of 25 in the winter months and over 30 in the summer months.
It is time to bond and gel. The young at heart throw away their shyness, the smiles and jokes without any care are so visible.
Activities include playing cards, chess, carom, table tennis, darts and singing.
The day starts with morning tea freshly prepared by volunteers, coffee, biscuits, croissants, complimented by other snacks.
Exercises are then conducted to energise the team as lunch can be very filling with healthy options again prepared by volunteers.
We now have to operate a waiting list for donations by members to celebrate their birthdays, weddings, anniversaries etc
Entrance fees are fixed at £2 for members and £3 for guests. This may be revised by the board of trustees if they feel necessary.
There are groups of members polishing their skills on using mobile phones, laptops, etc., with the help of some members who are experts in the field.
Background music with a taste of golden oldies is again provided by our volunteers and there is ample opportunity to sing along with these favourite melodies.
There is no age restriction for enrolment and quite a lot of the members bring their grandchildren during half term and school holidays.
Who says retirement is boring. Come and gauge the fun. Ladies, please don’t feel jealous.
There is a What’s App group that is used to communicate information that is relevant to the club.
